Hey Eagles Fans! Fashion Football Fever is in the Air. Are You Game?

Malcolm Jenkins and Rodney McLeod among this year’s star-studded lineup

Did you catch last week’s Eagles game? If so, then you know that our players have some fantastic moves. If you think they looked good on the field, you haven’t seen anything yet! That fancy footwork will soon be put to the test on a different platform.

Eagles safety Rodney McLeod will use his slick moves to strut down the fashion runway. And he won’t be alone.

Several members from the Super Bowl-winning team, the Philadelphia Eagles and their significant others will be strutting down as well at The Fillmore. Do you know what’s the best part? Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region (BBBS) will benefit from their efforts!

It’s that time of year again. Fashion Touchdown 2018 is set for Nov. 5 and we’re all geared up to make this year’s event the best one ever in terms of attendance and funds raised!

Last year’s star-studded event raised a record-breaking $360,000  in one night. This year, we’ve upped the ante and have a goal of $1 million! We have top-named sponsors joining the fifth annual event, including Live Nation, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, and AmerisourceBergen.

In addition to Rodney McLeod, players just confirmed that will be walking the walk include Malcolm Jenkins, Brent Celek, Todd Herremans, Jalen Mills, Chris Maragos, Jordan Hicks, and Zach Ertz. All players will don attire from the bespoke men’s suit line of Damari Savile, owned by the dynamic Eagles safety Malcolm Jenkins. ToBox Shoes will provide the men’s footwear. For many players, this is a repeat performance.

The women will wear Nicole Miller Philadelphia’s 2018 Fall Collection (yes, that Nicole Miller), who, along with ToBox Shoes, are our returning runway fashion show partners. Nicole Miller herself and her team will be in attendance to curate the runway looks.

A live auction to win players’ jerseys and once-in-a-lifetime experiences will also be highlights of the evening’s activities. Both Herremans’ and Celek’s signed jersey were auctioned off in 2017. Past winners have also enjoyed a private tour of Nicole Miller’s New York studio and dinner with Celek.

Charity Begins at Home

When you talk to many around Philly, they are eager to share their stories on how they or someone close to them has been inspired or helped by the Big Brothers Big Sisters organization. Just ask our own Joseph Marrone, founder of Marrone Law Firm. His affiliation began as a Big Brother to Brian D. Marchese who is now an attorney at our firm. Additionally, Marrone currently sits on the Governing Board of BBBS Independence Region.

With all of the fun and festivities, our mission always remains clear: “to provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.”

BBBS Independence currently serves nearly 4,000 children annually but has more than 1,200 children waiting for mentors of their own. The need continues to be great and we have so much more work that needs to be done.

Our food and beverage sponsors are Philly’s own Brulee Catering, Casamigos Tequila, Stateside Vodka, and Yards Brewery. Beauty partners include Philly’s Jason Matthew Salon who will once again provide hair styling for the women and, just added, Anastasia Beverly Hills who will coordinate the female models’ makeup.
